Your role as a Trainee SEND Teaching Assistant

You’ll work closely with teachers and support staff to help students access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their personal goals.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Helping pupils with SEND, SEMH, Autism (ASD), ADHD, and communication needs
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Building positive relationships and encouraging student engagement
  • Assisting with literacy, numeracy, and classroom learning activities
  • Supporting personalised learning plans and EHCP targets
  • Helping create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Supporting intervention sessions, life skills, and independence development

Requirements

  • Commitment to completing the 11-month apprenticeship programme
