SEND Teaching Assistant – Specialist School, Boston Spa

We are currently working with a highly supportive and nurturing specialist provision in Boston Spa, who are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.

About the role:

The school supports children and young people aged 3–19 with a range of additional needs, including:

• Autism
• Hearing impairments
• Speech, language and communication needs
• Moderate to severe learning difficulties
• Complex sensory and communication needs
• Social, emotional and mental health needs

The school takes a trauma-informed and autism-friendly approach, with a strong focus on communication, emotional wellbeing, independence and preparing students for adulthood.

We are looking for applicants who:

• Have experience supporting children or young people with SEND
• Are confident working with pupils with autism and communication needs
• Can build positive, trusting relationships with students
• Are patient, proactive and adaptable in their approach
• Have a genuine passion for helping young people thrive both academically and personally

Experience working within specialist schools, care settings, youth work, Theatre in Education (TIE), or therapeutic environments would be highly beneficial.
