Graduate Teaching Assistant – Chichester

Engage Education is working with a welcoming Secondary school in the Chichester area to recruit a Graduate Teaching Assistant for a full-time position starting in September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to gain valuable classroom experience before progressing into teacher training, educational psychology, or another career within education. You will work alongside experienced teachers to support pupils academically, socially, and emotionally while developing your own skills in a school setting.

About the role:

• Supporting teaching and learning across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
• Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small intervention groups
• Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom resources
• Supporting pupils with literacy, numeracy, and targeted interventions
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement during lessons
• Helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and resilience
• Supporting children with a range of learning needs where required
• Gaining valuable experience of classroom practice, safeguarding, and behaviour management

About you:

• A recent graduate looking to begin a career in education
• A degree in Education, Psychology, English, Maths, Childhood Studies, or another relevant subject is desirable
• Passionate about supporting children’s learning and development
• Friendly, patient, and enthusiastic approach
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work effectively as part of a wider school team
• Previous experience working with children through tutoring, coaching, mentoring, childcare, or volunteering is beneficial but not essential
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
