Engage Education is recruiting Student Achievement Tutors to work across a number of Further Education campuses in South East London, supporting learners aged 16–19, with some adult learners aged 19+.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, experienced pastoral staff, Learning Mentors, Student Support Officers, or individuals looking to build a rewarding career within Further Education.
The Role
As a Student Achievement Tutor, you will play a key role in supporting students throughout their educational journey by:
- Acting as a personal tutor for a caseload of students.
- Monitoring attendance, punctuality, behaviour, and academic progress.
- Delivering tutorials and personal development sessions.
- Supporting students with wellbeing, resilience, and employability skills.
- Working with students to set targets and develop action plans to improve achievement.
- Liaising with curriculum teams, parents/carers (where appropriate), and external agencies.
- Identifying students requiring additional support and making appropriate referrals.
- Encouraging high levels of engagement, attendance, and progression into employment, apprenticeships, or higher education.
- Maintaining accurate student records and contributing to safeguarding and welfare processes.
We’re Looking For
- Experience working with young people in education, mentoring, youth work, pastoral care, or student support.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive and professional relationships with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- A proactive and supportive approach to student wellbeing and achievement.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures within education is desirable.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
