Engage Education is recruiting a Female SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive all-girls secondary school in South East London from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate who is passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will work closely with students who require additional support, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and thrive both academically and socially.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND.
- Support students with a range of additional needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and physical needs.
- Assist students with personal care and mobility where required.
- Use positive behaviour management strategies to support learning.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and pastoral staff.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Essential Requirements
- Female applicant (this is an occupational requirement for this role due to the nature of the support provided).
- A degree in any subject.
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
- Manual handling experience or confidence supporting students with physical needs.
- A caring, patient, and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
