SEND Teaching Assistant – School in Croydon
 

I am currently working with a well-resourced and supportive school in Croydon who are urgently seeking a behavioural specialist to support their secondary-age pupils to start
immediately.
 

About the role:
The needs of the pupils they cater for range from:
ASC (verbal and non-verbal)
Social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs
Challenging behaviour
 

We welcome applicants with a strong understanding of working with students with SEMH needs and behavioural difficulties, and who are committed to making a positive impact on pupils’ progress, engagement and wellbeing. The school places a strong emphasis on structured support, consistency and building positive relationships to help students succeed.

You will ideally have experience in supporting children with special educational needs or will have a genuine passion for working with students with additional needs. Working with
Theatre in Education (TIE) or delivering workshops with children is beneficial. By beingproactive, resilient and taking initiative, you will be able to build strong relationships with
students and develop your understanding of a wide variety of needs. Experience in behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques would be advantageous.
