SEND Teaching Assistant – Bexley | September 2026 Start | Full-Time

Engage Education is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive specialist setting in Bexley for a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), speech and language needs, and associated communication difficulties.
• Support pupils with their learning, emotional regulation, social development, and independence.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver personalised support.
• Help create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment.
• Support pupils with personal care where required (training will be provided if needed).
• Encourage positive behaviour using a consistent and nurturing approach.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children or young people with SEND, either in education, care, youth work, or a similar setting.
• Is calm, resilient, and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Is committed to supporting every child to achieve their potential.
• Holds GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent (desirable).
