SEND Teacher – Mainstream Primary School (Islington)
Start Date: September 2026 (Earlier Start Available)
I am currently working with a supportive and inclusive mainstream primary school in Islington that is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEND Teacher to join their team. The role is due to start in September 2026, although an earlier start can be arranged for the right candidate.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a mainstream setting that has a high proportion of pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school is committed to providing a nurturing, structured environment where all pupils are supported to succeed both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet a range of SEND needs, with a strong focus on SEMH
Support pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social challenges within a structured classroom environment
Develop and implement individualised learning plans and behaviour strategies
Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCO, and external professionals
Create a safe, consistent, and supportive learning environment
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
Experience working with SEND pupils, particularly SEMH needs
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
A calm, patient, and resilient approach
