We’re working with a friendly and supportive Primary School in Wimbledon seeking a motivated Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 while completing a fully funded Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship.

Your responsibilities

As an Apprentice Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small intervention groups
  • Assist with phonics, reading, writing and maths activities
  • Help teachers prepare engaging lessons and classroom resources
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil engagement
  • Support children’s social, emotional and academic development
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents

Previous school experience isn’t essential – enthusiasm, reliability and a genuine desire to help children succeed are what matter most.

Requirements

  • Commitment to completing an 11-month apprenticeship
  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above preferred
  • Eligible to undertake a government-funded apprenticeship
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one – full support provided)
