We are working with a warm, welcoming and supportive school in Hailsham that is looking to appoint a dedicated SEMH Learning Support Assistant. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

The school supports children with a range of needs, including:
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Anxiety and emotional regulation difficulties
- Attachment and trauma-related needs
- Challenging behaviour
Every day is different, and you’ll play a key role in helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and positive relationships while supporting their learning.
Who we’re looking for
We welcome applications from candidates with a range of experience. Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, trauma, attachment needs or challenging behaviour is highly desirable, but training and ongoing support will be provided for the right candidate.

- Residential Childcare Workers
- Graduates looking to begin a career in education or psychology
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience supporting children or young people with additional needs, SEMH or challenging behaviour.
- Be confident implementing positive behaviour management strategies.
- Build strong, professional relationships based on trust, consistency and empathy.
- Remain calm, resilient and patient in challenging situations.
- Bring a positive, energetic and approachable attitude while maintaining clear boundaries.
- Be committed to helping every child achieve their full potential.
