The successful candidate will teach students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 depending on your specialism and experience.

The Role

As a Science Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and practical Science lessons that inspire curiosity and a passion for learning.
  • Teach Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at Key Stage 3, with the opportunity to specialise at GCSE and A-Level where appropriate.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, using data to inform planning and intervention.
  • Prepare students for GCSE examinations, supporting them to achieve excellent outcomes.
  • Create a safe and stimulating laboratory environment, ensuring all practical work complies with health and safety regulations.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the department through enrichment activities, STEM initiatives, and intervention programmes.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour, attendance, and academic achievement.

We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Science within a UK secondary school.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or General Science.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A passion for delivering engaging practical and theoretical lessons.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
