The successful candidate will teach students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 depending on your specialism and experience.
The Role
As a Science Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging and practical Science lessons that inspire curiosity and a passion for learning.
- Teach Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at Key Stage 3, with the opportunity to specialise at GCSE and A-Level where appropriate.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress, using data to inform planning and intervention.
- Prepare students for GCSE examinations, supporting them to achieve excellent outcomes.
- Create a safe and stimulating laboratory environment, ensuring all practical work complies with health and safety regulations.
- Contribute to the wider life of the department through enrichment activities, STEM initiatives, and intervention programmes.
- Promote high standards of behaviour, attendance, and academic achievement.
We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Science within a UK secondary school.
- Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or General Science.
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- A passion for delivering engaging practical and theoretical lessons.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
