Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning?
We are working with a large and inclusive secondary school in Haringey that is looking to appoint a dedicated Inclusion Officer to join its pastoral team from September 2026.
This is a rewarding role for someone who is confident, resilient and committed to helping students make positive choices. You will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, supporting student wellbeing and ensuring pupils remain engaged with their education.
The Role
As an Inclusion Officer, you will:
- Support students who require additional pastoral and behavioural intervention.
- Supervise and manage the school’s Alert Room (Internal Reflection Room), ensuring students remain engaged in their learning while completing restorative interventions.
- Build positive relationships with students to help improve behaviour, attendance and engagement.
- Work closely with Heads of Year, pastoral teams, senior leaders and teaching staff.
- Support students returning to lessons following time in the Alert Room.
- Deliver restorative conversations and behaviour interventions.
- Monitor behaviour, attendance and punctuality, maintaining accurate records.
- Liaise with parents and external agencies where appropriate.
- Promote a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment across the school.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with young people in a school, youth work, mentoring or behaviour support setting.
- Is calm, resilient and confident managing challenging behaviour.
- Can build positive and professional relationships with students.
- Has excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Is able to remain composed under pressure.
- Has a genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes.
- Understands the importance of safeguarding and inclusion.
Experience supporting students with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs is highly desirable.
