Year 2 Class Teacher – Hastings

Primary School | Full-Time | September 2026 Start

Engage Education is working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Hastings to recruit a dedicated Year 2 Class Teacher for a full-time position starting in September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to join a committed team and take responsibility for a Year 2 class, creating a positive and engaging learning environment where pupils can develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.

About the role:

• Teaching a Year 2 class across the full primary curriculum
• Planning and delivering engaging lessons that meet the needs of all pupils
• Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
• Assessing and monitoring pupil progress, adapting teaching where required
• Using effective behaviour management strategies to support learning
• Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and wider school staff
• Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress
• Contributing to wider school activities and the ongoing development of the curriculum

About you:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 1 is desirable
• Strong understanding of the Year 2 curriculum and assessment expectations
• Passionate about helping children achieve their potential
• Able to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
• Positive and consistent approach to classroom management
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
• ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply
