Engage Education is working with a welcoming primary school in the Horsham area to recruit an enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant for a full-time position starting in September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate looking to gain valuable classroom experience and develop a career within education. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced teachers to support pupils’ learning, confidence, and development across the school.

About the role:

• Supporting pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2
• Providing 1:1 and small group support to help children access learning
• Assisting with literacy, numeracy, and targeted classroom interventions
• Supporting teachers with lesson preparation, resources, and classroom organisation
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement within lessons
• Helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and social skills
• Building strong relationships with pupils and staff
• Gaining valuable experience of classroom practice, safeguarding, and school procedures

About you:

• A recent graduate interested in developing a career within education
• Degree in Education, Psychology, Childhood Studies, English, Maths, or a related subject is desirable
• Passionate about supporting children’s learning and development
• Patient, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous experience working with children, tutoring, mentoring, or coaching is beneficial
• Keen to gain practical classroom experience before pursuing further training, such as teacher training
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
