The Role

As an English Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver engaging English Language and English Literature lessons that inspire a love of reading and writing.
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students of all abilities.
• Prepare students for GCSE examinations, helping them achieve excellent outcomes.
• Assess, monitor, and track student progress, using data to inform planning and intervention.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Promote high standards of behaviour, attendance, and academic achievement.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities, intervention sessions, and departmental initiatives.

We’re Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching English within a UK secondary school.
• Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
• A passion for inspiring young people and raising attainment.
• A commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
• Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
