We are recruiting experienced Cover Supervisors to work in welcoming and supportive secondary schools across South Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers, experienced Teaching Assistants, youth workers, support workers, sports coaches, or anyone with experience managing groups of young people.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher. You will ensure students remain engaged, on task, and working in a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans across a range of subjects.
• Manage classroom behaviour confidently and professionally.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment.
• Support students with their learning and encourage participation.
• Follow the school’s safeguarding and behaviour policies.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff after each lesson.

We’re Looking For

• Previous experience working with secondary-aged students.
• A confident and professional classroom presence.
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Flexibility, reliability, and a proactive approach.
• A genuine interest in education and supporting young people’s development.
