  • Prepare learners for work experience placements, supported internships, apprenticeships, and future employment opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with learning support assistants, therapists, parents/carers, employers, and external agencies.
  • Support learners’ personal development, independence, and preparation for adulthood.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
  • Relevant industry experience within the construction sector.
  • Strong practical knowledge of construction methods, tools, materials, and health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to adapt teaching and learning to meet a range of additional learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and learner-centred practice.
  • Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities within education.

Desirable

  • Experience working within an SEN School, College, or Alternative Provision setting.

  • Knowledge of vocational qualifications such as City & Guilds, BTEC, ASDAN, or Entry Level programmes.
  • Experience delivering employability and Preparation for Adulthood programmes.
  • Assessor qualification or experience of vocational assessment.

  • High expectations for learner achievement, independence, and progression.
