Are you an ambitious Business Development professional with experience in the construction sector? Do you thrive on building relationships, winning new business, and creating opportunities that make a real impact?

At Engage Education Services, we are working with a leading education and training provider to recruit a Business Development Manager who will play a pivotal role in developing partnerships with construction employers across London and the South East.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven individual who understands the construction industry and is passionate about connecting employers with apprenticeships, workforce development programmes, and training solutions that address skills shortages and business growth.

The Role

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new employer partnerships while managing and growing existing accounts. You will act as a trusted advisor to businesses, helping them access training solutions that support their workforce needs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing relationships with construction employers, contractors, and supply chain businesses
• Generating new business opportunities through networking, referrals, cold outreach, and industry engagement
• Promoting apprenticeship programmes, commercial training, and workforce development solutions
• Managing a pipeline of opportunities and consistently achieving sales and engagement targets
• Conducting employer needs analyses and presenting tailored training solutions
• Acting as the key point of contact for employers throughout the engagement process
• Attending networking events, employer forums, and industry meetings to expand partnerships
• Working collaboratively with internal teams to ensure an excellent employer experience

About You

We are looking for someone who combines commercial awareness with strong relationship-building skills.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience in business development, employer engagement, account management, or sales
• Strong knowledge of the construction sector, including contractors, trades, and supply chains
• A track record of meeting or exceeding business development targets
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
• Experience managing employer relationships and developing long-term partnerships
• Confidence working independently and managing your own pipeline of opportunities
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Desirable Experience

• Apprenticeships, skills training, further education, or workforce development experience
• Knowledge of government-funded training programmes
• Experience working with levy and non-levy employers
• Existing employer networks within the construction sector
