Behavioural 1-1 SEMH Learning Support Assistant Required
This is a caring and inclusive community where every child is supported to rebuild confidence, discover their strengths, and prepare for a brighter future. Pupils are encouraged not only in their learning but also in developing the skills they need for life beyond school – resilience, independence, and a belief in their own potential. Many young people here face challenges such as anxiety, trauma, or behaviour that communicates unmet needs, and staff play a vital role in helping them feel safe, valued, and capable of success.
Applications are welcomed from candidates with a variety of backgrounds. Training will be provided, though experience of working with children with SEMH, particularly attachment and trauma, is an advantage. What matters most is a strong commitment to supporting children with complex needs and the ability to bring patience, positivity, and consistency every day.
This role will suit someone who is passionate about making a difference to young people’s lives – whether by helping them manage emotions, build healthy relationships, or gain practical skills for adulthood. Those with backgrounds in Youth Work, Behaviour Mentoring, or similar roles are also encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience supporting children or young people with emotional and social needs
- Be confident in managing behaviour with calmness and consistency
- Build trusting relationships that help pupils feel understood and supported
- Bring warmth, energy, and encouragement while setting clear boundaries
- Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car
Applications are encouraged from:
- Youth Workers
- Behaviour Mentors
- SEN Teaching Assistants
