Full time 08:30am until 15:30pm

 

Engage Education are looking for a patient, caring and dedicated Behaviour Teaching Assistant at a mainstream primary school in WF3.

This position is supporting a child on a 1 to 1 basis with challenging behaviour. The child is in lower key stage 2 and has a tendency to wonder off, be defiant, refuses to do school work and can be verbally aggressive towards staff and other pupils. Therefore the school are looking for someone who can make a positive impact on the childs behaviour during their time in school to get the best out of the childs education.

The school offers a variety of enriching educational opportunities for pupils including academic, functional and vocational skills. You will connect directly with young people, guiding them to get the very best from their education.

This role is a full-time position (Monday to Friday) which would become permanent after a 12 week probationary period. The school are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Working 1:1 or with a small group of children to support their teaching and learning.
  • Be able to adapt to the needs of the child in lessons and assist them in their school day
  • Promote positive behaviour.
  • A dedication to the safeguarding of young people.

Requirements:

  • A resilient attitude and range of behaviour management techniques.
  • To have worked with people with a range of needs (experience with young people with SEND desirable).
  • A positive and caring nature.
  • A dedication to enhancing young people’s learning.
  • A commitment to working at the school for a consistent period of time
