A forward-thinking secondary school in Haringey is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join its pastoral team from September. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working with young people who is looking to make a positive impact in education.
Your Role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:
- Provide one to one and small group support for students who require behavioural and emotional guidance.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to improve engagement and attendance.
- Support students in managing their behaviour both inside and outside the classroom.
- Work closely with teachers, pastoral leaders and the safeguarding team to implement behaviour support strategies.
- Encourage pupils to develop confidence, resilience and positive learning habits.
The Ideal Candidate
- Has experience working with young people in schools, youth work, coaching, mentoring or similar settings.
- Is calm, patient and resilient when managing challenging situations.
- Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Is passionate about supporting students to succeed academically and personally.
- Can commit to working full time for the academic year.
