At Engage Education Services, we’ve specialised in recruiting education staff for over a decade. We’re looking for an enthusiastic School Attendance Officer to work full-time at a fantastic primary school in Hillingdon.
Our team has built an excellent reputation in the local area, and we’re looking for more high-quality office staff to work with these schools.
Our Engage Education Services team specialises in the placement of non-classroom-based staff including Administrators, HR, Finance and Facilities.
Working hours are Monday – Friday 8am till 4pm, during term time only. This is a Long Term Temp assignment, They would consider short term temp options also. The hourly rate will be £15-£18 per hour.
About the role:
Our School Admin duties can include:
- Using the school’s internal system to record a high volume of data
- Assisting the Office Manager with various administrative tasks
- Communicating effectively with students, staff and parents in a professional and friendly manner
- Covering reception duties
- Monitor daily attendance and punctuality across the school.
- Analyse attendance data and identify trends, persistent absentees, and pupils at risk of poor attendance.
- Produce regular attendance reports for senior leaders and governors.
- Maintain accurate attendance records in line with school policies and statutory requirements.
- Follow up unexplained absences promptly through calls, emails, letters, and home visits where appropriate.
- Build positive relationships with pupils and families to improve attendance outcomes.
- Work directly with parents/carers to identify barriers to attendance and develop support plans.
- Undertake attendance meetings with parents and pupils.
- Support vulnerable pupils and those at risk of persistent absence.
- Promote a culture of excellent attendance throughout the school community.
- Carry out first-day absence procedures and welfare checks.
- Escalate concerns in line with safeguarding procedures and policies.
- Work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) regarding attendance-related safeguarding issues.
- Conduct home visits where required to support safeguarding and attendance interventions.
The ideal applicant will have:
- Experience working in a busy school or college environment.
- A real passion for working within an education environment.
- Experience utilising SIMS (School Information Management System) within an administrative role.
