About the Role
A rewarding opportunity has become available for a 1:1 Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join the supportive and nurturing team.
This role involves supporting children in KS1 and KS2 who have challenging behaviours which are linked to special educational needs. These needs may include; Autism, SEMH, PDA, ADHD and more.
We are looking for a compassionate, proactive, and resilient individual who can build strong relationships with pupils and help them succeed both academically and emotionally.
Your Role as a 1:1 Behaviour Teaching Assistant
- Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils
- Supporting children in the classroom to encourage engagement and positive behaviour
- Working closely with teachers and support staff to minimise disruption and promote learning
- Assisting pupils with Autism, SEMH, ADHD, Severe Learning Difficulties, and other additional needs
- Providing feedback to teachers, parents, and carers on pupil progress and wellbeing
- Encouraging confidence, independence, and social development
The Ideal Candidate
- Has an outgoing, patient, and mentoring approach
- Is passionate about supporting children and young people
- Can think on their feet and remain calm in challenging situations
- Is proactive, adaptable, and prepared for every day to be different
- Has the ability to build excellent relationships and rapport with pupils and staff
- Previous experience working with children or young people with additional needs is desirable but not essential
