Why is Berkshire a desirable place to live?

Berkshire, known as the Royal County, offers an appealing mix of picturesque villages, excellent transport links, and a vibrant culinary scene, making it an ideal place to call home.

In recent years, Berkshire has become increasingly popular among Londoners seeking a more relaxed rural lifestyle without sacrificing the convenience of a manageable commute. The county’s charming villages, like Inkpen and Kintbury, provide the perfect setting for those who enjoy a slower pace of life. Here, you can explore local markets selling fresh, locally-sourced produce against the stunning backdrop of the North Wessex Downs, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

For those who prefer a bit more activity, Berkshire’s larger towns, such as Newbury and Wokingham, offer a vibrant blend of historical charm and modern amenities. Newbury, known for its lively market and cultural scene, and Wokingham, with its highly-rated schools and family-friendly atmosphere, both offer excellent transport links to London. Commuters can easily access the capital by train in under an hour, making Berkshire a practical choice for those who work in London but prefer to live in a more serene environment.

Additionally, Berkshire’s proximity to Reading—a major commercial and retail hub—ensures that residents have easy access to a wide range of amenities, from shopping and dining to entertainment and employment opportunities.
