Engage Education is currently working with a welcoming and supportive SEN school in Manchester that is looking for a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs.

The Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who may experience behavioural, emotional, social and additional learning needs. Your role will be to provide consistent support, build positive relationships and help pupils develop the confidence and strategies they need to succeed.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Providing one-to-one and small-group mentoring
  • Supporting pupils to manage their emotions and behaviour
  • Helping students develop positive coping strategies
  • Encouraging engagement with learning and school activities
  • Supporting pupils to develop their social and communication skills
  • Working alongside teachers, SEN staff and pastoral teams
  • Implementing individual behaviour and support strategies
  • De-escalating challenging situations calmly and professionally
  • Promoting positive behaviour and reinforcing school expectations
  • Helping pupils develop independence, resilience and confidence
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to relevant staff
  • Supporting pupils during lessons, break times and other school activities
  • Following safeguarding, behaviour and health & safety procedures

Previous experience working in SEN schools, PRUs, youth work, residential settings, pastoral support or behaviour-focused roles would be highly beneficial.
