About the Role

As a key member of the site maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the school premises. You will ensure classrooms, corridors, communal areas, washrooms, and staff spaces are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, providing a healthy and hygienic environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and buffing floors across classrooms, halls, and corridors.
• Dusting, wiping down, and sanitizing desks, tables, door handles, and interactive touchpoints.
• Deep cleaning and restocking hygiene supplies in washrooms and toilet facilities.
• Emptying waste bins, recycling units, and disposing of rubbish safely in designated site areas.
• Following health and safety guidelines, including COSHH procedures for safe chemical usage and storage.
• Reporting any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to the Site Controller/Caretaker.

Who We’re Looking For

• Experience: Previous experience in commercial cleaning, domestic cleaning, or school facilities support is preferred (though full site orientation will be provided).
• Attributes: Reliable, punctual, efficient, and thorough with strong attention to detail.
• Work Ethic: Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a cleaning team.
• Awareness: Basic understanding of cleaning products, hygiene standards, and safety precautions.

Requirements

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one—assistance provided).
• Full eligibility to work in the UK with reliable professional references covering the last two years.
