About the Role

Working across Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6), you will play a key role in keeping pupils engaged, focused, and supported as they navigate the upper primary curriculum. You will collaborate with experienced year-group teachers to deliver targeted core subject interventions (Reading, Writing, and Maths), assist with whole-class management, and provide extra encouragement to pupils preparing for key assessments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering targeted small-group interventions in Literacy, Guided Reading, and Maths.
  • Assisting the class teacher with general classroom preparation, lesson setup, and classroom management.
  • Supporting pupils with additional learning needs or SEN to ensure full access to the curriculum.
  • Helping to facilitate SATs preparation and booster groups for Year 6 pupils (where applicable).
  • Encouraging pupil independence, critical thinking, and positive social dynamics in the classroom.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experience: Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary setting, ideally within Key Stage 2.
  • Academic Support: Strong foundational skills in English and Mathematics to confidently support KS2 learning.
  • Mindset: Enthusiastic, approachable, well-organized, and resilient.
  • Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or relevant degree/experience) preferred.

Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Full eligibility to work in the UK with professional references covering the last two years.
