KS2 Teaching Assistant Required – Primary School in Mitcham

About the role:

Engage Education is working with a welcoming primary school in Mitcham that is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join its KS2 team as soon as possible.

This is a full-time role initially running until Christmas. The successful candidate will provide a mixture of general classroom support and focused 1:1 support, helping pupils to access their learning, build confidence and make strong progress.

You will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to create a positive, inclusive and engaging environment for children across Key Stage 2.

The ideal applicant will be:

• Experienced working with primary-aged children, ideally within KS2
• Comfortable supporting pupils in class, in small groups and on a 1:1 basis
• Confident supporting learning across the KS2 curriculum
• Patient, caring and able to build positive relationships with pupils
• Able to support behaviour and encourage positive engagement in learning
• Flexible, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team

Previous school-based experience is desirable, but the school will consider candidates with relevant childcare, tutoring or youth-work experience.
