KS1 Teaching Assistant Required – Primary School in Mitcham
About the role:
Engage Education is working with a welcoming primary school in Mitcham that is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join its KS1 team as soon as possible.
This is a full-time role initially running until Christmas. The successful candidate will provide a mixture of general classroom support and focused 1:1 support, helping pupils to engage confidently in their learning and make progress.
You will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to create a positive, inclusive and nurturing environment for children in Key Stage 1.
The ideal applicant will be:
- Experienced working with primary-aged children, ideally within KS1
- Comfortable supporting pupils both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis
- Patient, caring and able to build positive relationships with children
- Confident supporting learning, behaviour and classroom routines
- Flexible and proactive, with a genuine interest in helping children succeed
- Able to work effectively as part of a team
Previous school-based experience is desirable, but the school will consider candidates with relevant childcare, tutoring or youth-work experience.
