We’re looking for a skilled, caring, and proactive Level 3 Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and ambitious secondary academy in Leeds. What you’ll be doing:

• Providing high-quality support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in lessons, on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Delivering targeted interventions to improve literacy, numeracy, communication, social skills, and emotional wellbeing
• Supporting teachers to adapt learning materials and classroom activities to meet individual needs
• Encouraging students to develop independence, confidence, and resilience in their learning
• Working closely with the SENDCo, teaching staff, pastoral teams, external professionals, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for students
• Monitoring student progress and contributing to reviews, support plans, and EHCP targets
• Promoting positive behaviour and helping create a calm, inclusive learning environment

What we’re looking for:

• A Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Learning Support qualification (or equivalent)
• Previous experience supporting students with SEND within a secondary school or educational setting
• A strong understanding of a range of additional needs, including:
  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Patience, empathy, resilience, and a calm approach to supporting young people
• The ability to adapt quickly and use initiative to respond to students’ individual needs
• Strong teamwork skills and a commitment to working collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff
• A genuine passion for helping every student succeed, regardless of barriers to learning
