About the Role

This is a full-time position where you will be responsible for delivering high-quality Health and Social Care lessons across Key Stage 4 and, where appropriate, Post-16. You will plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that inspire curiosity and develop students’ knowledge of health, wellbeing and the care professions.

The successful candidate will join a supportive and collaborative department that values teamwork, innovation and high-quality teaching. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities while benefiting from an extensive programme of professional development.

Initially offered on a fixed-term basis, this role has the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Health and Social Care at Key Stage 4, with Post-16 experience desirable.
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for promoting careers within the health and care sectors.
• The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
• High expectations of student achievement, behaviour and presentation.
• Excellent classroom management and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A reflective approach to teaching with a commitment to continuous professional development.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve both academically and personally.
