Executive Assistant to the Co-Headteachers – Worthing
Full-Time | Term Time Plus 5 Days
Engage Education is working with a thriving secondary school in the Worthing area to recruit an experienced Executive Assistant to the Co-Headteachers.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking school at an important stage of its development. The successful candidate will provide high-level executive support to the Co-Headteachers, ensuring their time, priorities, and communications are managed effectively so they can focus on leading the school. This role would suit an exceptionally organised professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident working with discretion, initiative, and minimal supervision.
About the role:
- Providing proactive, high-level administrative and executive support to the Co-Headteachers
- Acting as a trusted professional partner, anticipating priorities and supporting effective decision-making
- Managing complex diaries, meetings, correspondence, and confidential communications
- Serving as Clerk to the Local Governing Body, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and maintaining statutory governance records
- Supporting HR administration alongside the Head of HR, including confidential staff processes and people management procedures
- Maintaining the Single Central Record and ensuring safer recruitment processes are fully compliant
- Supporting statutory compliance by monitoring school policies and ensuring required information is published and kept up to date
- Building positive relationships with colleagues across the school and wider trust to support collaborative projects and initiatives
- Managing sensitive information with the highest levels of professionalism and confidentiality
About you:
- Previous experience in an Executive Assistant, Senior Administrator, PA, or similar role
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Highly professional with exceptional attention to detail
- Able to work independently using initiative and sound judgement
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience of governance, HR administration, or school administration is desirable
- Confident using Microsoft Office and a range of IT systems
- Committed to maintaining confidentiality and supporting a positive school culture
Salary & Hours:
- NJC Scale Points 20-24
- Salary: £32,597 – £35,412 per annum
- 37 hours per week
- Term time plus 5 additional days (including INSET days and key school events)
