Are you an enthusiastic English Lecturer looking for a new opportunity this September? We are working with a well-established Further Education provider in Bexley seeking a passionate and dedicated English Lecturer to join their successful English department on a 1-year fixed-term maternity cover until July 2027.

This is an excellent opportunity to teach motivated learners aged 16–18 and make a real impact in a supportive and ambitious curriculum team.

The Role

As an English Lecturer, you will:

• Deliver engaging and inclusive English lessons across Entry Level 3, Level 1 and GCSE.
• Support learners of varying abilities to achieve their academic and personal goals.
• Plan, prepare and assess high-quality lessons that inspire student progress.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
• Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement initiatives.
• Support student recruitment activities and represent the department at open events where required.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in English or a related subject.
• A recognised Further Education teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching English within a Further Education setting (or relevant industry experience).
• GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A genuine passion for helping learners succeed.
