Engage Education is recruiting Behaviour Mentors to work in a range of welcoming and supportive secondary schools across South East London from September 2026. These long-term opportunities are ideal for graduates, experienced Behaviour Mentors, Youth Workers, Sports Coaches, Teaching Assistants, or anyone with experience supporting young people with behavioural, social, emotional, or mental health needs.
The Role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:
- Support students both in and out of the classroom to improve behaviour and engagement.
- Build positive relationships with pupils who require additional pastoral support.
- Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and SENCOs to implement behaviour support strategies.
- Help de-escalate challenging situations and promote positive behaviour.
- Encourage students to develop confidence, resilience, and independence.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to school staff.
We’re Looking For
- Experience working with young people in schools, youth work, mentoring, coaching, or similar settings.
- A calm, resilient, and proactive approach to behaviour management.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
