We are working with a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Ashford, Surrey that is seeking a dedicated Design & Technology Teacher to join its successful department from September 2026.

The successful candidate will primarily teach Food Technology (Catering) alongside General Design & Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students through practical, engaging lessons while becoming part of a supportive and forward-thinking school community.

The Role

As the successful Design & Technology Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology and General DT lessons.
• Teach practical cooking, nutrition and food preparation skills.
• Deliver high-quality Design & Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Encourage creativity, innovation and independent thinking.
• Assess, monitor and track student progress.
• Maintain a safe and organised learning environment, ensuring health and safety procedures are followed during practical lessons.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop an engaging curriculum.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Has experience teaching Food Technology/Catering and General Design & Technology.
• Demonstrates excellent classroom management skills.
• Has a passion for inspiring young people through practical learning.
• Is committed to raising achievement and delivering high-quality teaching.
• Can contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
