About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated British Sign Language (BSL) Teacher to join our inclusive and supportive school community in Wandsworth. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting Deaf and hearing-impaired students, as well as promoting inclusive communication across the school.

You will deliver high-quality BSL teaching, enabling students to access the curriculum, develop communication skills, and build confidence in a nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging BSL lessons tailored to a range of abilities
  • Support Deaf and hearing-impaired students in accessing the curriculum
  • Assess, monitor and report on student progress
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN teams and support staff
  • Promote Deaf awareness and inclusive communication across the school
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to student reviews and EHCP processes

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
  • Minimum BSL Level 3 qualification (Level 6 desirable)
  • Experience working with Deaf or hearing-impaired learners
  • Strong understanding of inclusive and differentiated teaching practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
