English Teacher | Classroom Teacher 

Location: Kingston-upon-Thames, London

Pay: Up to MPS6 depending on experience 

Start Date: September 2026

About the role

Are you an experienced English Teacher with QTS who is seeking a new opportunity in the new academic year? We are working with a school in Kingston-upon-Thames to recruit an English Teacher who can commit to the position for the entirety of the academic year (and beyond!), teaching KS3 and KS4. This is a long-term position starting in September 2026. 

The school is focused on providing the highest quality of education, and all members of staff are expected to strive for excellence in everything they do. The students consistently attain high standards and their behaviour in lessons and around the school is good.

About the role:

• Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality English Literature and English Language lessons that inspire a love of literature and language across all secondary Key Stages.
• Assess, monitor and report on student progress, using data to inform teaching and support all learners in achieving their potential.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes excellent behaviour, high expectations and student wellbeing.
• Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of students of all abilities, including those with SEND, EAL and higher-attaining learners.
• Contribute to the wider life of the English department by supporting curriculum development, enrichment activities and extracurricular opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers to promote outstanding outcomes and ensure every student is supported to succeed.
