SEN Science Teacher – Burgess Hill

Engage Education is working with a supportive and inclusive specialist school in the Burgess Hill area to recruit an enthusiastic SEN Science Teacher for a full-time position starting in September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and delivering engaging Science lessons tailored to individual learning requirements. The successful candidate will join a committed team focused on helping students build confidence, develop independence, and achieve their potential.

About the role:

• Teaching Science across a range of abilities and age groups within a specialist setting
• Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons to meet individual pupil needs
• Adapting teaching strategies and resources to support students with SEN
• Assessing, tracking, and reporting on pupil progress
• Creating a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
• Supporting pupils with communication, behavioural, and learning needs
• Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, support staff, and wider professionals
• Contributing to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities

About you:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching Science within a secondary or specialist setting
• Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Science education
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN is desirable
• Understanding of adapting lessons for a range of learning needs
• Calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour management
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of pupils
