About the Role

Engage Education are currently recruiting Year 6 Teachers to join our team of supply staff, supporting primary schools across Leeds on a flexible, ad hoc basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced primary teachers who are looking for the flexibility to choose when and where they work, whether you’re looking for regular supply days, occasional work around other commitments, or a way to stay active in the classroom.

We work with a wide range of primary schools, giving you the opportunity to experience different school environments while continuing to make a positive impact on pupils’ learning.

Your Responsibilities

As a Year 6 Supply Teacher, you will:

• Deliver engaging and effective lessons to Year 6 pupils.
• Follow existing lesson plans and ensure learning objectives are met.
• Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies and expectations.
• Adapt lessons and activities where appropriate to meet the needs of individual pupils.
• Support pupils with their learning and provide appropriate feedback.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other school staff.
• Ensure continuity of learning throughout your time in the classroom.
• Carry out the usual responsibilities expected of a class teacher, including safeguarding and maintaining high standards of pupil welfare.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for teachers who:

• Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Have experience teaching within a primary school, ideally including KS2 and/or Year 6.
• Have a strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Are confident managing a classroom independently.
• Can quickly build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Are adaptable, reliable and confident working in different school environments.
• Have a passion for education and supporting pupils to achieve their potential.

ECTs are welcome to apply, as well as experienced teachers.
