Year 2 Class Teacher

Contract: Full-Time / Long-Term
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

A welcoming and supportive primary school in Watford is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Year 2 Class Teacher to join their team from January 2027.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified teacher who is passionate about Key Stage 1 and can create an engaging, nurturing and well-structured learning environment where pupils can thrive.

The Role

• Take responsibility for a Year 2 class

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the KS1 curriculum

• Support pupils with phonics, literacy and numeracy

• Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs

• Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment

• Support pupils with a range of abilities and additional needs

• Work closely with Teaching Assistants and other school staff

• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues

• Prepare pupils confidently for their transition into Key Stage 2

The Ideal Candidate

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Have experience teaching within a UK primary school

• Previous Year 2 or KS1 experience would be highly desirable

• Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and phonics

• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

• Organised, reliable and adaptable

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Passionate about helping children achieve their potential
