We’re recruiting a Trainee Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive Secondary School in Doncaster, supporting pupils across KS3 and KS4 while completing a fully funded Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship.

Key responsibilities

As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups
• Assist with literacy, numeracy and targeted interventions
• Support pupils with accessing the curriculum and completing classroom activities
• Help manage classroom behaviour, engagement and participation
• Encourage positive attitudes towards learning
• Support pupils’ emotional and social development
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation and learning resources
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence and organisational skills
• Provide additional support to pupils who may require extra assistance with their learning
• Work closely with teachers and wider school staff to support pupil progress

Requirements

• Commitment to completing an 11-month apprenticeship
• GCSE Maths & English Grade C/4+ preferred
• A genuine interest in supporting children and young people
• Patient, reliable and enthusiastic approach
• Not currently enrolled on another government-funded course
