Engage Education are currently recruiting for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Leeds. This is a full-time temporary-to-permanent opportunity, starting as soon as possible.

About the role
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils both academically and emotionally. Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with additional needs
- Supporting children within the classroom and helping them access learning
- Delivering targeted interventions to support progress and attainment
- Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team
- Building positive relationships with pupils and encouraging their confidence and independence
- Supporting individual pupils with their specific learning and development needs
The ideal candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced working within a primary school or similar educational setting
- Passionate about supporting children and helping them achieve their potential
- Patient, caring and proactive
- Creative and confident in finding ways to engage and motivate pupils
- Able to build strong relationships with children and staff
- A Level 2 relevant qualification is desirable, but not essential where you have suitable experience
