Are you an experienced Care Support Worker, Support Worker or Healthcare Assistant looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference to children and young people?
We are currently recruiting a Care Support Worker to join a specialist SEN school in Leeds, supporting children and young people aged 4–16 with a range of complex additional needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a caring, patient and supportive nature who would like to use their existing experience within an educational environment.
About the School
The school provides specialist education and support for pupils with a range of complex needs, including:
- Complex Communication Needs
- Autism
- Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
- Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
You will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to help pupils feel safe, supported and able to engage in school life.
The Role
As a Care Support Worker, you will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils throughout the school day.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing dedicated support to pupils with complex additional needs
- Supporting pupils with communication and interaction
- Helping pupils access learning and classroom activities
- Supporting emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour
- Encouraging independence and developing life skills
- Providing personal care where required
- Supporting pupils during activities, break times and throughout the school day
- Working closely with teachers and other professionals
- Creating a calm, safe and positive environment for pupils
About You
We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with experience as a:
- Care Support Worker
- Support Worker
- Healthcare Assistant
- Children’s Support Worker
- Residential Support Worker
- Youth Worker
- SEN Teaching Assistant
- Learning Support Assistant
- Carer
Experience supporting individuals with autism, complex needs, communication difficulties or profound learning difficulties would be highly beneficial.
Most importantly, you will be patient, compassionate, reliable and committed to helping children and young people reach their potential.
