SEND Teaching Assistant – Complex Autism

Location: Bradford, BD9
Hours: 08.20 am- 3.20 pm Full-Time or Part-Time | Monday–FridayContract: Long-Term | Temp-to-Perm

We are recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to join a specialist school in Bradford (BD9), supporting children and young people aged 3–19 with Autism, complex learning difficulties and significant communication needs.

The Role

• Provide 1:1 and small-group classroom support.

• Support pupils with Autism, SEND and complex learning needs.

• Assist with communication, emotional regulation and sensory needs.

• Manage challenging behaviours using positive, calm approaches.

• Support pupils with personal care where required.

• Encourage learning, independence and social development.

• Work closely with teachers to deliver individualised support.

Experience in any of the following:

SEND | Autism | Learning Disabilities | Complex Care | Support Work | Behaviour Support | Residential Care

You’ll need to be:

• Patient, nurturing and resilient.

• Confident supporting pupils with complex needs.

• Comfortable with personal care and challenging behaviour.

• Flexible to work across the 3–19 age range.

• Passionate about supporting children with SEND.

School experience isn’t essential! We welcome candidates from care and support work backgrounds with transferable skills.
