Nursery Assistant 

Location: Watford, Hertfordshire
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time / Long-Term
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

A welcoming and supportive primary school in Watford is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join their Early Years team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to support their learning, development and confidence within a nurturing nursery environment.

The Role

• Support children within the school’s Nursery / EYFS provision

• Assist with engaging play-based learning activities

• Support early communication, language, literacy and numeracy development

• Encourage positive social interaction and independence

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required

• Support children with SEND and additional needs

• Help maintain a safe, stimulating and well-organised learning environment

• Work closely with the class teacher and wider Early Years team

• Assist with observations and monitoring children’s progress

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience working with Nursery or Early Years-aged children is desirable

• An Early Years or Teaching Assistant qualification would be advantageous

• Patient, caring and nurturing approach

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Able to build positive relationships with young children

• Reliable, enthusiastic and proactive

• Understanding of the EYFS framework would be beneficial

• Passionate about supporting children during their early development
