We are currently recruiting caring and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to work across a range of welcoming primary schools in Croydon.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them make progress academically, socially and emotionally.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND
- Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to support individual learning needs
- Support pupils with communication, social, emotional and behavioural needs
- Assist with targeted interventions and classroom activities
- Help pupils access the wider curriculum
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil engagement
- Support children in developing confidence, independence and social skills
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils and staff
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND is desirable
- Experience within a primary school would be advantageous
- Patient, caring and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Calm and resilient when supporting pupils with additional needs
- Reliable, proactive and adaptable
- Able to work effectively as part of a wider school team
- A genuine passion for helping children reach their potential
