Learning Support Assistant 

Location: Hertsmere, Hertfordshire

Contract: Full-Time / Long-Term
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

A welcoming and supportive primary school in Hertsmere is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with their learning, confidence and development within a positive and inclusive school environment.

The Role

• Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2

• Work closely with the class teacher to support learning and progress

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required

• Support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs

• Assist with literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities

• Deliver targeted interventions where appropriate

• Encourage positive behaviour and pupil engagement

• Help pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills

• Support with classroom preparation and day-to-day activities

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience working with children is desirable

• Primary school experience would be advantageous

• A patient, caring and positive approach

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

• Reliable, adaptable and proactive

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND would be beneficial

• Passionate about helping children reach their potential
