Pay: Up to £120 per day (depending on experience)

About the role:

  • Supervise whole classes across a range of subjects during the short-term absence of the class teacher.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure students understand and complete the work that has been set.
  • Maintain a calm, positive and purposeful learning environment where students remain focused and engaged.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and consistently in line with the school’s policies and expectations.
  • Provide encouragement and general support to students, helping them to stay on task and participate in their learning.
  • Build positive relationships with students while maintaining high expectations for behaviour and conduct.
  • Work flexibly across different subjects and year groups, adapting confidently to the needs of each class.
  • Report back to teaching staff on student engagement, behaviour and any issues arising during the lesson.
  • Promote the school’s commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and student wellbeing at all times.
  • Support the wider life of the school and work collaboratively with teaching and support staff.

The ideal candidate will have excellent behaviour management skills and previous experience of working with young people, ideally within a school or educational environment. Graduates, aspiring teachers and experienced Teaching Assistants or Learning Support Assistants are also encouraged to apply.
