Engage Education Joins The Herts For Learning Framework

We have been named as a preferred supplier on the Herts for Learning Framework, managed by the largest school company in the UK dedicated to improving education for young people. We are proud to have been selected by Hertfordshire County Council as an agency that provides outstanding recruitment services to schools in the local area. There’s further information about how the framework supports schools here.

Established in 2008 in Hertfordshire, we’ve since grown to become a multi-award-winning education and support services agency working with academies, MATs, independent and maintained schools across Hertfordshire, the Home Counties, London and beyond. Our dedicated local team has over 30 years’ of experience supporting local schools across Hertfordshire.

We support our clients in finding teaching staff, cover supervisors, teaching assistants, SEND and intervention specialists, business managers, administrative and facility staff for all daily-cover, long-term strategic cover as well as permanent roles. Are you using the Herts for Learning Framework?

There are many benefits to working on a County Council recruitment framework, including;

  • Set daily rates – We’ve long advocated for transparency in recruitment to promote fairness for schools and to create an environment where recruitment is recognised as a partnership that allows schools to get the best possible deal for the best possible talent. Pre-negotiated terms for daily supply with Herts for Learning mean we can do just this.
  • Transparent and fair pay for supply teachers in line with AWR payscales
  • With Engage Education, you get the highest levels of safeguarding and compliance, first-rate customer service and transparency at all levels.
  • CPD for supply teachers in your schools – we offer an outstanding development and support team who are on hand to train and help retain your staff, should any training requirements arise, we’re best placed to run events to suit your needs.

How does engage support schools needing emergency cover?

For schools that require supply teachers, working with an agency on the frameworks means you can be certain that funds are being spent in the most efficient way possible. We also guarantee the following:

  • Response within 15 minutes
  • A minimum of 85% of emergency cover filled before the start of school
  • 95% of emergency cover filled within the first hour of school starting
  • Cover can be booked between 7am – 5.30pm
  • Call service available for weekday out of hours, weekends and bank holidays

Case Studies

Our partner schools rely on us to fulfil their supply and longer-term recruitment needs. Don’t just take our word for it, check out these Headteachers experience of working with Engage.

In the last three years at my previous school, Queens’, Bushey. I worked closely with Nicole Dunbar and Engage to fill a number of key long term vacancies. Through the iday route, we secured a Science, Maths and History teacher when all other normal channels had failed. These three teachers, two years later, are now permanent employees at Queens’ and an integral part of their school and their departments. The maths teacher is one of the best young teachers that I have seen in recent years, the Science teacher has been promoted to a KS3 lead role and the History teacher to a Deputy Head of 6th role.

During the relationship at Queens’ we worked with Engage to deliver bespoke in-school CPD for their overseas recruits. I know from further work with Engage that this element that sets them apart has been developed further. They now employ current educational senior leaders to deliver and tailor CPD to their iday recruits before and during their school placements. This is in conjunction with the schools to ensure that you are getting what you need in terms of teacher development.

My consultant, Nicole, went to school locally, knows the schools really well and their different needs and has developed a full understanding of the context of the various schools. This helps to ensure that the right person is put in front of you on the idays, over the telephone or in-person.

Toby Sutherland, Head Teacher

St Clement Danes School

We have worked with Engage for about 2 years and sourced approximately 6 members of staff. To date the majority of staff have been of a very high standard, bearing in mind their experience prior to joining us. All teachers have been willing to work within school systems and are willing to learn.

Support from the recruitment team has been strong with regular contact and common-sense solutions to problems. We appreciate that Nicole knows our needs and pushes appropriate candidates to us based on her own research on our behalf.

The support from Jay Treloar is something which distinguishes Engage from the other agencies we work with. Jay has brought a very positive influence to the staff we have and is willing to offer additional support where it is needed. Recently he has arranged an extra visit to one member of staff to guide her in a particular area of her practice. Staff have also appreciated the support with their personal circumstances adjusting to life in the UK.
