Engage Education joins the CCS framework for supply teachers for the future of education

At Engage Education, we take the future of education seriously. As such, we welcome the recent implementation of the Crown Commercial Service’s framework for supply teachers. This framework aims to set best practices and standards for education recruitment agencies going forward, and can be used when hiring any agency worker on a temporary or fixed term basis. The framework can be used to hire temporary and fixed-term teachers and support staff (both mainstream and SEND), and back office staff such as administrative, maintenance, clerical, and IT workers.

We’ve long advocated for transparency in recruitment to promote fairness for schools and to create an environment where recruitment is recognised as a partnership that allows schools to get the best possible deal on the best possible talent; using our expertise to solve the staffing challenges schools face. We are proud to have our commitment to schools recognised by the CCS through our inclusion on the supply teachers deal, which sets standards for cost effectiveness and transparency of fees.

Our place on the CCS supply teachers suppliers list also highlights our longstanding commitment to upholding the best standards in education recruitment; including robust background checks, comprehensive safeguarding standards, and buying decisions compliant with EU legislation.

When schools use the CCS framework to meet their supply teacher needs, they can be sure they are only dealing with agencies that have committed to the set of standards laid out by the CCS and sponsored by the DfE, including transparency of costs and mark-up, rigorous background checks on teachers and support staff, and an ability to waive temp-to-perm fees after 12 weeks in placement.

Agencies named on the suppliers list must also be accredited by one of three auditing bodies. At Engage, we’re accredited by the REC, and our recruitment procedure and training policies are in accordance with Safer Recruitment in Education and ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ guidance to ensure we are fully compliant.

We hope you’ll join us in promoting the future of education by taking advantage of the security, talent and value offered when using the CCS’ supply teachers deal. Our team are more than happy to talk to teachers and schools alike about how the deal can benefit you.

“Out of 122 suppliers on the framework, we’re confident that our long history of supporting schools makes us stand out on the list; from our lineup of over 50 expert consultants to our Partnership & Development team of former teachers and senior leadership we’re fully equipped to assist all schools in solving their staffing challenges. We welcome the introduction of the framework because it gives schools the opportunity to review their current suppliers to identify vetted and compliant providers for a better standard of education recruitment.” – James Ockelford, MD
